Temp sending unit vs Temp gauge?

 · Put an ohmmeter on the sending unit(s). Unfortunately, I don't know the exact numbers for your sending unit but IN GENERAL, at room temp the ohms should be several hundred (or more) and in a pot of boiling water should be around 30-ish. If you know the manufacturer of your sending unit, an internet search should give you exact numbers.

SOLVED: Drive problem on case b uni

I just removed the electric cylinder from my skid loader that locks my system so I can release it manually. Is it ever too cold to fly?

 · 4 years ago over Iowa heading home to MN from Florida I froze the oil cooler on my J model. I did not put a strip of aluminum tape over the oil cooler as I normally would due to the warm departure temps. It was at -38f when the oil went from 164 to 210 then in 2 mins to 220. I got it stopped at 230 by going about 80 lop, and increasing rpms.

 · Andy, with the temps in your area, I'd go with a good quality 140 wt. hypoid gear oil. That's what we use in our haybine gear boxes. Just in case you hadn't thought of it, don't forget to locate the level plug for the gear box( usually about 1/2 way up the bottom shaft on that type gear box) and make sure the vent is clean and properly venting.

 · I don't know Dave but if Toyo recommend it I think they have thought about the synchro rings. If you order oil for an 80 manual box that is the part number they supply. If you have a choice perhaps go for a thinner oil as this helps the synchro ring teeth bite into the cones and improves the gear ….
